After the murder in Saudi Arabia of a prominent Shi’ite cleric, Nimr al-Nimr, the Lebanon based Hezbollah leader slammed the ruling Al Saud family’s response.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah condemned the execution in Saudi Arabia of a prominent Shi’ite cleric, saying the death of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr could “not be taken lightly.”

We are today faced by an appalling event, a huge event that Al Saud took lightly… but this is an event that cannot be taken lightly,” Nasrallah said in a speech broadcast live on the Lebanese Shi’ite group’s Al Manar television.

The leader of Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah has strongly condemned Saudi Arabia for executing prominent opposition Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.

Hassan Nasrallah described al-Nimr as a brave martyr and holy warrior, who didn’t carry weapons or espouse armed conflict and was killed only for his criticism of the Al Saud ruling family. Celebratory gunfire rang out in central Beirut at the speech’s beginning and end.

Nasrallah said the Saudis could not take any criticism.

Earlier, protesters gathered in Beirut at the Saudi Embassy and United Nations buildings to denounce the execution.

Audiences at the rallies and watching Nasrallah’s speech chanted: “Death to the house of Saud.

The regime in Saudi Arabia has been strongly criticized by human rights organizations.

Saudi Arabia has been compared to Daesh in long time now, especially for their support of terrorist organizations in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Hashtags #SueMeSaudi and #SaudiArabiaIsISIS has now many hits every minute, and many want to mark their opposition and to show their distance to the brutal dictator regime in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia practice Wahhabism ideology, a strictly fundamentalist orientation within Sunni Islam, which in practice is the state religion in the country. It is also ideology direction that has inspired al-Qaida and Daesh.
